partisan stick with which to beat Bush
Well, that's where you are wrong about me even being a Democrat. I'm actually a center-left independant. There are only certain choices available to me to vote and much of that coincides with the Democrats, especially on a national level. I have voted for a Republican sherrif and state senator locally.

The Republicans seem to me to have formed some sort of united-front block party in which no Republican is allowed to deviate from the orthodoxy put out by the right wing of the party. That is why you don't see me supporting Republicans, not that there aren't some good ones, but if they attempt to grow a brain or spine they are pounced upon by the financial equivalent of DeLay's goon squad. They then demonize the Democrats to rationalize behavior which is probably further right than their own instincts.

So long as America is still free, I don't have to be a party to that! I beat on Bush because I don't like him and think he stole the office, not because of some party affiliation.
