gao, those who have limited exposure to technology are blind to the opportunity cost of msft's marginal Operating system software. But the continued damage of msft's sucky software in opportunity cost has been deminished by the internet and the fact that alternatives are available that allow those who know how to get more out of a computer to do it with little difficulty. The pollution of Engineering design and development tools by being ported to msft crapware OSes is greatly reduced. The fact that Linux has created a universal unix and runs on inexpensive intel boxes has arrested the drag on tools development. tom watson tosiwmee
