Patricia,

Question: Is it ok to enable the "initalize and script Active X controls not marked safe" in the security settings?
Why does my computer have it marked "disable"?

Generally, you should not change the "initialize and script Active X controls not marked safe". Your computer probably has it set to "disable" because you have your security settings higher than "Low". Even the "Low" setting defaults to "Prompt".

If you truly trust the site that you are downloading from, then you can change this setting, but after you complete the download, you should change the setting back to "disable".

I downloaded dialpad several months ago and did not experience this problem. Are you downloading from the dialpad homepage (www.dialpad.com)? If so, I would contact them first and inform them that you are receiving this error.

If you are downloading from some other site, I would be VERY careful. Since the dialpad program can make phone calls from your phone, it is possible that some unscrupulous individual has modified the program to dial a "900" or other charged phone number that you won't find out about until you receive your phone bill. By then it will be too late to do anything about it.

Hope this helps.

B.K.
