I was under the impression there had been some level of gold mining in India for many centuries, but the article said otherwise. I know good & well the protective gold tariffs of India have been mentioned here for several years & I recall the tariffs go back to the time of Mahatma Gandhi. I assumed the gold mining India was protecting could only be her own.
