This is one of the installments of the Impeachment reparations owed by the Democratic party. Since Watergate, they have made their only political capital by conspiring with their left wing media lapdogs to manufacture scandals. With the advent of Clinton, those resources had to be re-deployed to get him sprung from conviction on his many, many crimes.
Those resources are now exhausted, the Democrats have no credibility with the public, and their media lapdogs are quickly fading away in the shadow of alternative media sources. Chris Mathews and Al Hunt, as usual, are national laughing stocks.
So the latest attempt to manufacture a scandal to attack the Bush administration has already fallen flat. Add to that the constant revelation that Enron, like all private enterprise threatened by a tyrannical government, gave money to both sides-which was nothing but an attempt to protect itself from the government, rather then attempts to curry favors.
The sooner we establish solid federal term limits, and get the government out of all the illegal activities they have taken on since the 30's, the sooner ALL companies will stop obsessing over what Washington is going to do to them, and go back to creating jobs, which is their reason for existence... |
