Since Jews and Moslems are incapable of living in peace within the same nation, a separation of populations is a necessary condition for any lasting peace. No peace is possible, as long as large Moslem populations live on Israeli-controlled land. So, your solution would create a "separation of populations" (or "ethnic cleansing", take your pick), and secure borders for Israel.
But there would be other results, as well: the "moderate" Arab states, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan, would be in an untenable situation. They could no longer remain U.S. allies. Governments in those states, would be overthrown, or would renounce their ties with the U.S. There would probably be another general Arab-Israili war, and another oil embargo. Another result: the total isolation of Israel, in the international community. Even the U.S. would probably embargo weapons (including spares for existing weapons), for a couple of years. Could Israel win a war with only weapons they could make and maintain themselves? So, would Israeli security be improved, or hurt, by expelling its Moslem population?
I'm afraid you are right, that Israel will eventually try to do what the Serbs tried. But the result will not be peace. The result would be many more SafeHavens for terrorism in the Moslem nations, and more war. |
