gov't in place in the 1930s/40s should have been investigated for not stopping Pearl Harbor?

They did a major investigation, and fired General Short and Admiral Kimmel. They were scapegoats, Roosevelt was trying to get Japan to declare war so that he could start a war with Germany. With his, and everybody else's arrogance at the time, they could not conceive of the attack on Pearl.

This whole investigation of Enron is a farce, but it will get the headlines and attention for the next year. Congress will pander to the pressure groups and posture to the press, in an attempt to influence the election.

As I said before, the investors are out their money, the employees are looking for jobs, and the Company Officers will face trial. That is supposed to be how it works in a Capitalistic system. Everything else is just yak-yak. You don't need an investigation to handle it.
