The huge, unanswered problem in all of this is that of simple demographics and economics. There are now far more recipients of entitlements than ever before. The entitlements are EXPECTED to do far more than they were ever intended. SS was intended as a supplement to retirement income, now it is touted as the retirement income. Medical coverage has been thrown in for good measure. Exploding costs of government, while far exceeding GDP growth have covered by an ever increasing number of taxpayers which are now taxed at the highest rates EVER.

Well, the wheel now is turning on the population curves. There will be ever payers and incresingly more collectors. The collectors are US and the payers will be our children today.

We are presently screwing future generations by heaping huge amounts of future spending on them today.

I am an advocate of cutting ALL government spending at All levels.
