scott-- it was A Gs exuberance in raising rates that caused the recession to be as long and deep as it is. He started the ball rolling thinking he could stop it on a dime. Now he sees the rate drops are not as moving as the raises were and have no near term influence. So he was wrong 3 times and now he could possibly expect anyone believes he has a clue now? No-- actually the biggest market delayed pop could come from his resignation.. He correctly attempted to slow the economy but by continuing raise rates (the last 3/4) after seeing a slowdown in progress he shot it in the head... the drops have not been able to stop the bleeding. Historians will prove his legacy as the 'bull killer'.
