Trying to get Gustave to compromise his extreme, prejudiced views is like trying to get the Palestinians to stop the killing and maiming of Jews. Both goals seem unobtainable.
I've been reading Gustave's, Len's and Thomas's notes for many months. They have one thing in common, an apparently uncontrollable hatred towards Jews, and the desire to continuously bash and denigrate anything that is Jewish. They are very predictable.
Reasonable people are interested in peaceful coexistance and opportunity. America is an example of where many races and religions CAN live together in relative harmony. Peace should be desired by every reasonable person, right?
If the Gustaves, or the Palestinians, of the world had their way, this would be a world of hatred, jealousy and anarchy. Why? That is the ages old question. |
