Well, according to a lot of guys, nice and otherwise, who post on the other thread, there is a changing of the guard, a new leader in the CPU business, an new innovator who will soon put Intel on the ropes. If AMD were "swept from the surface of the earth," it would alleviate those possibilities, wouldn't it?
