I'm not talking about only those who were undiversified. What of those who were? They have an equal claim.

If facts as reported so far are proven in court, then ENE and Andersen perpetrated a gigantic fraud against which investors and employees had very little defense. That is why there are laws on the books barring this sort of behavior. The sad fact is, even in a courtroom, even if the aggrieved win, after the hefty legal bill they will be lucky to get back a fraction of what was stolen from them. The only effective means I see to prevent this happening again is if those who perpetrated the heist are sent away for long stretches in federal prison. If that happens, successive clever executives will think twice before initiating a repeat performance. That is only as it should be, in a transparent capitalist system. Lying, cheating and stealing are not what this country's ideals are all about.
