Wrong. Most were eliminated in the mid-70s. But your programmer probably didn't know that.
YOU are wrong, nitwit. Do a little research. The Texas Sodomy Law was booked DECADES ago.
While there might have been a revision of them then, they passed the original clutch in the early '80s
Again, YOU are wrong. I was there. In fact, I do not even believe such a bill was passed in the 80s, and I don't recall Clements ever signing such a bill.
But at any rate, Ann Richards, major Democrat, signed it into law in the early 90s. You might ask, "Why, on earth, would a Democrat, whom we KNOW didn't want such a bill, sign it?". Well, the fact is that she DIDN'T want the law. However, as all good Democrats always do, she stuck her finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing, and she knew damned well she'd better sign the bill if she wanted to be reelected (luckily, she wasn't, anyway).
I think this is a perfect example, of the backboneless crap you get when you elect a Democrat, with FEW exceptions.
By the way, during Bill Clements' tenure the Texas legislature was predominantly liberal. |
