Your friend gave you the color and flavor of Carnival (so named for carne, flesh, both the flesh we are all heir to, and the flesh we eat), and DJ gave you the details of Lent, but not the color.
I can give you the color of Lent - it's purple vestments, it's white walls and dark wood, it's the honey smell of beeswax candles, it's the echoing murmers of prayers for salvation. No meat at all, but you may have fish, shrimp, crabs, oysters, lobsters, scallops, octopus, squid, conch, sea urchins, caviar, and every other succulent creature of the sea and the waters of the earth.
You have to give up something you love, as a mortification of the flesh. Many give up booze, some chocolate.
But I am suspicious, young satyr. What is the connection between Carnival, Lent, and investment? |
