>>So what's an investor to do?<<

Ibexx, any regular reader of BARRON'S (I've been reading their stuff for more than 20 years) knows that if you do exactly the opposite of what is recommended in BARRON'S you'll generally be better off. These articles are useful because they so accurately protray conventional, uninspired thinking, and they generally reveal only a superficial knowledge of stocks that are technology oriented. Added to that is the fact that the people BARRON'S selects for its roundtable discussions are generally from large funds or investment firms, where the amounts of money handled are so large that they are forced to look only at the larger cap stocks. And added to that is the fear of these individual portfolio managers to go out on a limb and do WORSE than their colleagues. It's okay if you do no better, but heaven help you if you do worse.

Given an investment climate of hawks (aggressive types), doves (more defensive oriented), or chickens (the typical fund manager), I'm glad to see so little interest in QUALCOMM. It means only that QUALCOMM is undervalued, whereas the rest are questionable at best.
