The problem in searching the net, is that there were two nuggety mines called the Croesus, one in Australia and one in Canada. The nugget was on permanent display in the ROM for many years and there were references to it. This may have changed with the anti-mining and smokestack industry attitude of the governments of Canada in the last few decades. The only thing I can say in reference to the nugget is there are lots more where that came from. The Township was Munro. The Gold area is known as the Matheson gold area and much good gold has been drilled off there in the last ten years. St Andrews Gold had a lot developed along a related break west of there. They got taken over by an Australian company I believe. I have personally held 80 ounce gold and 2000 ounce silver nuggets from Ontario mines. The 80 ouncer came from, I believe Lakeshore Mines in Kirkland Lake and was courtesy of Midnight Mining and Contracting Ltd. The 2000 ouncer was from some official source at Cobalt, possible the mining widows of the PDA, Cobalt division. EC<:-}
