Because after running the fleet so hard for the past two years, a significant amount of generation is slated to come off line in 2002 for repairs and refueling.

I followed this discussion from a pointer on another thread. I'm no nuclear expert. However I have visited and worked at a nuclear plant during refueling. Something doesn't sound right about what this guy said. What I mean is that these Nuclear plants refuel at least once a year. During that refueling, they undergo maintenance, testing, inspection of everything. It sounds strange to me that a person would expect more outages this year than any other? Something isn't right? I could understand if he expects more down time due to wear from overloading? But, from what I saw, they always ran that plant I was at full load if they could. ? I don't mean to argue. Just trying to help..
