techtonicbull, Inventories are reduced to almost "Dell Like" models, They are building in "just-in-time" fashion... Many companies have attempted to imitate the Dell model and while efficiency increased; their efficiency in terms of Inventory Turns and GMs came no where close to Dell. Sun has product differentiation. That could change with Intel's generation of chips after the Itanium.
