Tim, that's not true. When we had this discussion before, someone..maybe Scott or Scumbria......gave references to materials that made clear that Reagan was aware of how weak Russia was as early as the early 80

Reagan perhaps had good reason to think that things where very bad, but no one really knew both from messed up information (no matter how good of spies or other intelligence gathering capability we had there no one could get good solid info on their economy) and from the lack of ability to predict the future of an economy. We can't even accurately predict how fast our own economy will grow.

Also what about my other points?
