GST, Have you notice the pay for use additions to Yahoo? I am not taking a stand on valuation. I will say they added a lot of features. The larger mail box was 25MB. Now you can buy up to 100MB. The Yahoo drive feature that works on windows and many other similar operating systems(it does not work on Macs) provides a shared internet drive that may be shared anywhere in the world. That is also new. The application for access is beta but it works quite well. Again, they are selling extra space for this feature. It is clear they are trying to add pay for use as an additional stream of revenue to advertising. These features are very nice for firms my size. I imagine much larger firms have high powered web servers that are shared. The key here is how well received will these features be. Will mid and small sized firms pay for it? I suspect the storage they are selling does not cost them much so the margins are good in the event this sells well. Yhoo has made a lot of progress in this direction during the last four months.
