Installed redhat 7.2 on scsi. scsi0 : sym53c8xx-1.7.3c-20010512 disk uwide Vendor: QUANTUM Model: XP39100W Rev: LXY4 sym53c8xx: 53c875 detected with Tekram NVRA I chose a custom upgrade and installed with no format. I t seemed to be like an upgrade and left files from the 5.2 linux behind. Creating boot floppy failed for some reason. I did not attempt to write lilo boot to mbr of hda. I did lilo on boot patition of sda. Could not boot sda. to fix, reboot on hda2 redhat 5.2. mount sda3 edit lilo to add sda3 boot in lilo config but you have to copy the boot files from /sda3/boot to /boot before you run /sbin/lilo the final /dev/hda2/etc/lilo.conf boot=/dev/hda map=/boot/map install=/boot/boot.b prompt timeout=50 image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36-0.7 label=linux root=/dev/hda2 read-only image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.7-10smp label=linux8 initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.7-10smp.img read-only root=/dev/sda3 image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.7-10 label=linux-up initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.7-10.img read-only root=/dev/sda3 other=/dev/sda1 label=dos table=/dev/sda ........... Durnig install matrox card and htachi monitor was detected XFtee installed at 1600x1200 with no problem When I logged in as watson fvwm2 started as the window manager. see file watman.com tom watson tosiwmee
