JDN, I believe that most larger companies would rather have their Y2K work done outside. From what I hear from Y2K consultants, most companies start out by buying the conversion tools. However, after a few weeks of using them and not even making a dent in their codebase, the magnitude of the problem hits them and they come to the realization that their valuable programming staff has better things to do with their time-- not to mention the looks on the managers' faces when you try to tell them their pet project is going to be put off indefinitely because the MIS staff will be busy remedying "defective" 20 year old code.

There are only two methods of true outsourcing: a code convertor such as ALYD and a body shop such as IMRS. Both companies are doing well because both companies don't need to depend on alliances with other Y2K companies to get their work (although such alliances, of course, are welcomed).

From I read about PTUS, they are a tool vendor. Judging by their "partners", it appears that they have a viable product and should do quite well for themselves. And since many people do feel that selling Y2K software will be extremely profitable (who cares whether the customer ultimately uses it, right?), my guess is that this is/will be reflected in their stock price.

Again, good luck to all Y2K companies and investors.
