Re <<any insights on CYMI.....>>

Cymi and NMTC are probably the best two pure play on the 0.13 transition. Regardless of who makes the steppers, they use Cymer's lasers as the power source. Pretty much a monopoly with healthy margins. The ArF lasers (0.13 etch light source) sell for nearly $1 million. Huge barriers to entry and no one is really close to them. They should make $3 to $4 on the next cycle (2003). I think you can buy CYMI and the rest of the sector cheaper over the next 6 months. I'll be watching.

Mani, when you say sector....do you mean all the chips, or just equipment makers? In addition, by six months, are you saying you don't think business will pick up for the equipment makers until the end of 2002....that's figuring on the street's typical projection of 6 months...where stocks are bought six months ahead of a company's improving business.

I was thinking that business for the equipment makers should start to improve by the third quarter, making the end of this quarter a good time to buy. Of course, just because I think it doesn't make it so. <g>

As for CYMI, you don't see COHR as a competitor? BTW do you work for a public company? That's the end of my questions.

Have a good one.......after you respond to my questions. <g>
