I agree. The increase in Apple's market share may turn out to come from an unlikely avenue, as a lot of the brain power that's been focused on Linux turns toward OS X development. I don't mean to be picky, but you guys understand that FreeBSD (upon which OS X is based) is not the same thing as Linux? They are both unix variants, but have completely different development teams/histories/etc. Linux, for whatever reason, gets a lot more press, but FreeBSD is a fine version of Unix as well. Just a comment, since there is such belief that the Linux developers will somehow get involved with OS X. With regard to the comment that the "linux crowd" (small as they are) would buy an OS X box, well, that's just nuts. Any self-respecting Linux type would install Linux him/herself. I would hazard to say most Linux people wouldn't want OS X--they'd get a windows machine (to leverage all the software) and then install a dual-boot Linux (for all the "nerdiness"). But that's just my opinion. Steve (Who did exactly the above for the experience, but rarely finds a need to boot Linux. . .)
