07:49 ET Tyco Intl (TYC) 46.45: Co announces plan to unlock tens of billions of dollars of shareholder value by separating Tyco into four independent, publicly traded companies: Security and Electronics; Healthcare; Fire Protection and Flow Control; and Financial Services. Under the plan, co's healthcare; fire protection & flow control; and financial services businesses will be taken public through IPOs and then distributed to Tyco shareholders.

*** Disclosure - I have LEAP calls on this....

07:06 ET Moody's on Japanese Lenders : Moody's lowered its outlook on the country's biggest lenders to negative from stable, ahead of a government move to scale down its support for the financial system, according to the WSJ. "Moody's considers the Japanese banking system to be in a grossly inadequate financial shape to meet the new challenges from a changing systemic support mechanism," Moody's said in a report explaining its rating changes.

07:41 ET Pre-Market Movers : AMZN spikes 17% on strong Q4 and favorable guidance for Q1... RHAT bid up 13% on Saturday Washington Post report that AOL is in talks to buy company... LU climbs 6% after raising rev outlook for next qtr... KM plunges 63% to $0.66 after co stops weekly payments to major supplier, suggesting that a bankruptcy filing is closer than thought... IMCL falls another 9% upon the resumption of trading; stk plunged Friday on news of congressional investigation.

Japan threatening to go under 10K again. What the heck is wrong with them? Don't they have a plunge protection team like us? -ggg- There was an impressive turn around in our futures last night. Now it looks like instead of down, we are going to gap up 20 NDX points.

Good Luck,

Lee
