Check the number of shares outstanding for AMZN. I will bet anything that they repurchased shares towards the end of the quarter, thus reducing the total number of outstanding shares and increasing the per-share profit enough to turn into a gain. IBM is the master of this trick- why wouldn't amazon join in the fun?
