COGNICASE Acquires Toronto Internet Data Centre of BridgePoint International
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA--JANUARY 22, 2002 - 12:50 EST COGNICASE (TSE: "COG", Nasdaq: "COGI"), a provider of advanced transaction processing solutions and Internet-based applications, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of an Internet data centre in Toronto from BridgePoint International (Canada) Inc.

"The centre will help us meet our strategic growth objectives of increasing our recurring revenues by providing services in application service provider (ASP) mode."
Each year, COGNICASE's clients carry out more than 320 million transactions for a total value of more than $312 billion. The security, availability, and confidentiality of these exchanges requires equipment that meets extremely strict technical standards.
The centre has state-of-the-art redundant systems, contingency plans and procedures for off-site storage of back-up files, access control, and permanent video surveillance. The call centre provides clients with quick and personalized service for all help requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
With this acquisition, COGNICASE will have two data centre facilities covering Eastern Canada-one in Montreal and one in Toronto.
