Q39: Many thanks for the summary. The whole issue of the Energy Plan that is pending and all the various special interests, give us a very interesting situation. As is the way in Washington, there will be a lot of posturing, staking out of positions and playing to the TV cameras. Now remember this is an election year. So Bush want to be more oil independent, and the Russians are not ready yet to produce a steady supply, even though they need the cash. The final results in my opinion is that the politicians will go behind closed doors and strike a deal. Bush will get his drilling for the Republicans, but the price that the Democrats will extract is on emissions and fuel efficiency. In this way, both sides will be able to claim victory. The task of company's like Orbital, is to make sure that the guys in Washington ( both sides ) are aware that the technology currently exists to save on fuel and emissions. You are aware that many times I refer to posts made many years ago on the Yahoo thread, this is exactly what those posts refer too. If you have not read them here are the numbers 5701,5702,5702 and 5687,5686. You may be interested to know that the poster was an employee of Orbital and an engineer. However if you read those posts I would be interested in your reaction. Regards and thanks for the summary. John |
