<< if you were the average Arab, and saw the goings on in the Western Press, would you trust anything of their sources? >>

What goings on? Do you feel that the "average Arab" is against the coverage of American current events? International current events? The coverage of Sports? Or, Arts and Leisure? Hollywood? Health and medicine? The Euro? Financial news? Economic problems in Argentina? Haiti's great soccer win? Which is it that is so terrible that it makes Arabs distrust Western news and have great trust in their own government controlled news?

Would you like all news services to be government controlled?

<< I am not saying the Arab newspapers are superior in any way >>

Well, what are you saying? Arab newspapers are controlled by their governments. Do you feel that government controlled news organizations are as good as news organizations who are free from government control?

<< ... but I am saying what the average Arab mind will perceive on reading the "Wests" news. >>

Perhaps you are right. Perhaps the Arab world is not able to handle news that is not government fed.

<< I do not feel as easy as you do that all we do is "right". >>

I don't feel that way. I really get pissed off by some of my countries politics and policies. But, without freedom of the press, I wouldn't know about the screwups and the lousy policies.

What we are arguing is about the importance of a free press, not if I accept everything that my government does as "right".

<< I certainly do not say prayers "god speed the tanks" in the Israeli situation. >>

After Palestinians attacked a dance full of teenage girls, killing and maiming many, and then a pizza restaurant, I gave up on the peace possibilities completely.

Then came numerous other attacks against innocent civilians in Israel, again, and again, and again.

I think........ what kind of a people attacks civilians and then celebrates their deaths and injuries. What kind of people are these Palestinians? How can they get so much joy out of other people's murder and terror?

And, mostly, I get angered by Palestinian behaviour because, all they had to do 60 years ago is accept Israel as a neighbor, in peace, and they could have had their own peaceful and prosperous state long ago.

What kind of people are the Palestinians? Not the kind that I would want in, or near my country.
