I see Kmart filed for protection today-- that's odd.

Kmart has been struggling for a long time. Management skills have been lacking and it shows both in their store appearance and inventory mix. What had really interested me, was about 18 months ago Kmart hired a new CEO without that much experience. His package was worth $60 million over five years. They moved him down to COO I believe recently but that is a rediculous amount of money to pay someone without a clause for results.
