stribe, I was struck by JS's statement that AMD would NOT fall behind by more than 533 MHz (now 2200 vs 1667). Was this just bravado (30%) or does he know something about the clock scalability of NW (50%) or really expect TBred's in April or late March(20%)? [The figures in parentheses are my assessment of probability.]

Is a 2400 MHz NW before April really that difficult for Intel? I don't believe AMD can increase the MHz by more than 133 (to 1800) on 0.18u. AMD could jump to the 167 MHz bus slightly before Intel, thereby increasing the XP rating numbers, but JS's promise was for no more than a 533 MHz clock disparity.

EDIT - if you look at the Inquirer's roadmap, he shows in Q2 than AMD only advances 133 raw MHz to an XP 2200+, while Intel advances to 2.4 GHz. That would make the differential greater than 533 MHz; perhaps JS's promise was only for Q1?
