Brian, you are missing the essence of investing: It has nothing to do
with common sense. Investing is totally emotional and it all depends on the
love hate relationship you have with your stock and with the source
of your information.In this case the shorts are informed by Barron's in
large part which in essence is almost like the Bible. For example
Michael Price in the last issue of barron's roundtable, I believe ,
reccommends buying Gen Mot at ~56 because thy will spin off Hughes
and Delphi and thus they are worth $ 80/share. So for anrbody who
will get tich on shorting Vivus, Gen Motors at 56 would be the
next logical stock to buy.
