First I realize one of the two links I posted doesn't work.

Here is the corrected link
siliconinvestor.com

Second "Ross said the suspect was holding his hands in the air and dropped the gun at his prompting."

I assume there was some reason he was holding his hands in the air. I don't think it was a new dance move.

Also since I don't have a link to any actual story the directly indicates that he was stopped with a gun, I asked one of the two writers of the posts that I linked to, to provide one.

I do know that school shootings, and attempts to copycat the Atlanta day trader shooting where stopped by civilians with guns.

Edit - Here is a link -

stacks.msnbc.com

"“We saw the shooter, stopped at my
vehicle and got out my handgun and started to
approach Peter,” Tracy Bridges, who helped
subdue the shooter with other students, said
Thursday on NBC’s “Today” show. “At that
time, Peter threw up his hands and threw his
weapon down. Ted was the first person to
have contact with Peter, and Peter hit him one
time in the face, so there was a little bit of a
struggle there.”

However this article does seem to indicate that MSNBC will mention defensive gun use, so it weakens the argument made in the posts that I linked to. However it is true that such defensive gun use goes unmentioned in most stories. I usually keep up with the news, I'm a supporter of 2nd ammendment rights, and I didn't know about this until I read those posts.
