how will they make money and stay afloat going forward. If you believe the argument that the industry's new debt capacity is unlimited, well I'm afraid a world of pain awaits you.

Of course the debt load isnt unlimited....I am just saying that the current financial positions of these operators is not as shaky as most seem to think.

biz.yahoo.com

- Free cash flow of 606 million pounds.

- Strong financial position. Net debt of 9,240 million pounds, representing 9% of market capitalization. Single A credit ratings maintained.

Those two statistics seem the most compelling among the various numbers that Vodafone provides. We are not talking about a bunch of bankrupt CLEC's here...

I agree that these companies are going to have to prove that 3G can raise ARPU....but I believe that the capital will be available to build the network which at least provides them an opportunity to do so.

Do you think we can prolong this a couple of more posts so one of can "accidently" <g> get the grub???
