Jackson to lead rally for workers
Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle

The Rev. Jesse Jackson will be in Houston on Friday to support the thousands of Enron employees who lost their jobs and much of their retirement savings when the company collapsed.

"The government was neutralized because they were in collusion with Enron and could not protect the interest of the workers," he said.

Jackson will meet with community leaders and ministers at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on Friday morning. At noon, he will lead a prayer vigil and rally.

Jackson said he is also seeking a meeting with President Bush and Enron Chairman Ken Lay.
