Petz,

JS's statement assumes that he knows the best that Intel can do, and is positive about AMD capabilities in the near future. Both can turn out not to be what JS said, that is Intel can surpass his expectations, and AMD can come short.

A lot of us were doubtful about Intel hitting 2 GHz with their .18u process, and it turns out that that Intel delivered.

One thing I am wondering about is how to read the extreme overclocking data. I seem to recall Tbird could be overclocked using LN to some 2.2 GHz, which about 50% above the highest volume part that was shipped (1.4 GHz).

If this is the case, 3.6 GHz overclock would suggest 2.4 GHz top speed. Anyway, I am just speculating here. I would welcome input here. Just for comparison, what has been the highest overclock speed reached by Palomino?

Joe
