reaper, the biggest problem you and I have in understanding each other is that you think your case is universal. It is not. You chose to highly leverage your home ---I'm trying to tell you that not everyone does this. Leverage might work for you if you can deploy the money into other money-making activities. I know and have met many of these people. The baby boom generation has been around long enough for many people to live in a mortgage-free environment. These people are passing on money to their children, which enables many of the children to live the same way.
