I have been reading the discussion here on real-estate. I do not know how old you are, but I have been around for a while and owned income property which was purchased prior to the 1987 tax law changed and been a home owner for over 40 years. Have kept impeccable records of home ownership and I guarantee you it is one of the poorest investments one can make. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out. One must look at the cost of money, maintenance, taxes, etc. to figure this out. Home ownership is a life style that costs one money.

BTW, the tax laws prior to 1987 on income property ownership was a license to steal. Wonderful!!!!!!
