yeah thats who I thought you meant. Last night I was thinking IBM, Dell as first generation, next orcl and sun and finally (our stuff) amzn, yahoo etc.

But really, Dell is more new-generation than sun in some ways. I do think there are 3-tiers to technology but its hard to classify the names.
