i'm curious as to why you would say this. do you really think 60 grams of protein will cause cancer in someone with 120 lbs of lean body mass and sedentary? the rda for this person, assuming 20% bodyfat, is about 54 grams. 60 causes cancer, but 54 doesn't? ;-)

or do you have the zone confused with protein / fat gluttony espoused by atkins?

do you think that 0.5-1.0 grams of protein per lean body mass lb is that excessive (depending on activity level)? the rda for sedentary person is 0.45. the zone yields 0.5. the zone takes into account activity level and the rda does not.

the zone gets lumped in with "high protein" diets and it just baffles me. imho, it is a very reasonable and rational approach to living. btw, we *know* that high carb diets don't prevent cancer... and they may very well cause it, too. -ng-
