Tony, Strong companies spend from cash or stock. Weak companies, like AMD and MOT, borrow. This will be a very distressing news to many investors especially those of IBM (with $17 billion - yes that's b) and GE (with $81 billion) of LT debt. These companies are so weak that by now, I am sure they are penny stocks. BTW, INTC happens to have more LT debt ($972 million) than AMD ($672 million). Joe
