I think it was a worthwhile discussion, and although some do not think it is on-topic, it is much closer than the usual politics, religion, etc .... and much more interesting !

I'm sure the Croesus is probably a real pretty gold-in-quartz and hope we can find a picture of it for all of us to enjoy. What little I have learned about nuggets is they tend to be very pure gold (90%+) and the balance is often silver. Too bad the old timers broke the really big ones up for melt.

Don't know if you checked out the Perth Mint page, but they are sure making an effort to market certified nuggets (like PCGS/NGC coins) and they have an excellent selection, mostly priced near $US1000/ounce
