Btw, doess anyone have any "good" reasoning why Apple doesn't offer a dual-CPU system with only one CPU giving people the option of upgrading in the future with one or two faster processors? It would seem Apple offers just too little flexibility when they could just as easily offer a little more for next to no additional efforts.

IMHO Apple is slowly eliminating upgrade options. Not surprising considering several people on this thread are using souped up SEs? ;^)

Actually I'm considering upgrading my 8500 because my G4 is not very upgradeable. The fact that I can means it's harder for Apple to sell me a new machine.

Easy and cheap to upgrade my PC. New motherboard, CPU and Ram and I can double or triple my speed for about $500. A lot of PC people can do it for much less.
