09:05 ET Gadzoox Ntwrks (ZOOX) 0.70: Announces that Compaq (CPQ) is offering the Gadzoox Networks' 2Gb Open Fabric 6-port switch as an option in their new StorageWorks Modular SAN Array 1000.

ALso received 8.9mln in financing.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gadzoox Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: ZOOX - news), a global supplier of intelligent Storage Area Network (SAN) products, today announced that it closed on the sale of approximately $3.9 million of common stock in a transaction with Balch Hill Capital and another private investor. The company raised an additional $5 million from its sale of a convertible debenture to Berg and Berg Enterprises, LLC, a private venture capital firm that has invested in over 50 Silicon Valley companies. The investment will be used to continue the successful launch of Gadzoox Networks' Slingshot 2Gb Open Fabric switch platform and to support the development of future products and programs.
