JSampy: No. Any jump in technology which significantly lowers the price/bit of DRAM is bad for Micron but good for Intel, Dell etc. Say that some new technique dropped the price per bit five fold. The increase in demand would not offset the price drop so revenues and profits would fall. Margins might possibly increase but would be on a much smaller revenue base.

This is what has been happening year by year in DRAM as tech advances have outstripped demand growth. Total DRAM revenue is on a long term downward slide. An advance happened overnight (new head design) in the disk drive biz and crushed the companies.
