Will Lyons -

If you like dark horses like TRKN then you should probably look into

TGAL - long on their own path to advanced etch products but never able to garner enough credibility to really become a factor.

GGNS - well into ALD (Atomic layer deposition) which is AMATs latest innovation for Cu barrier deposition. Right now they are pursuing the hard disk thin film head niche but could push into semis if the industry goes that direction. Or could be an acquisition target for NVLS if AMATs entry is seen as a threat.

MTSN - choking on an ill-planned set of mergers which has prompted an overdue upper management change. But they have good technology in strip and RTP IF they can get a grip on their current circumstances. Also a potential takeover candidate for someone willing to glean the technology kernels and discard the crumbling husk.

But be aware that all of these (including TRKN) are in precarious shape and may not survive the next, muted cycle. Do your research well!
