Since you have a longer term view of COF then you should be looking at a weekly or monthly chart, depending on how long is long.
In looking at the weekly chart, (usually good for 3-6-months timeframe), you'll notice the Stochastics turning down from being oversold. You'll also see the stix up against support on the moving averages. A break below those moving averages and you can expect an intermediate term drop.

So far, the monthly chart shows that COF couldn't hold above the moving averages either, but the month's not over yet.
For long term purposes, you really need to see relative strength on the rise and it isn't here. COF needs to ripen on the vine some more before it takes off in an upward motion, in my opinion. All three timeframes are showing concern.
