The comparison between QCOM's EPS guidance and current estimates is unclear, as the company is now excluding various items that were previously included, reducing FY02 guidance by $0.12-0.16. New guidance is $0.90-0.97, which would presumably be $1.02-1.13 under the old method, vs the consensus of $1.07. More clear is revenue guidance, which is now 5-15% growth for FY02, or roughly $2.81-3.08 bln vs the consensus of $3.09 bln. In short - while Q2 revenues guidance was significantly worse than expected, FY02 guidance is not that bad.

It's good to see that at least some of the analysts are going to know to back out the changes in segment accounting.

They also guided down for the total number of handsets for the year....new range is 80m-90m (vs old range of 85-95).

It doesnt look like there were too many surprises one way or another.
