Yes, and I believe he doesn't think AMD can do a 8 way server if I recall correct.

It may be a challenge, but I don't think this is the best benchmark for judging success / failure of HT or Hammer. The question in my mind would be: "Is it worth expanding resources to come up with an 8-way server (assuming 4 2-core CPUs) until the hurdle of successful penetration of 2-way (or 2x2) is overcome?"

In my opinion, a better use of resources would be to target single and 2-way servers by offering performance (price/performance) that the volume OEM just can't refuse, and to present a roadmap to go to 4 to 8 way from there, and if a partner is found, proceed with the project.
