Joe, good points. There is definitely need for HT Southbridge, and components that would connect HT to xPCI. Plus some way to set up the cHT connections, but that could be the role of the motherboard maker.

I also saw a couple SCSI manufacturers. Surely both IDE and SCSI would benefit from being hooked up directly thru HT rather than thru a PCI bus. I know I saw a paper from ALi on a southbridge for an HT chipset, so I'm sure VIA and SiS are also working on Southbridges.

Were there any motherboard makers? I didn't notice.
